Why people look for a Vyond alternative

Vyond is a mature animation platform, and it is clear about who it serves: enterprise teams in training, HR, internal communications and sales. It combines Vyond Studio, a drag-and-drop editor with more than 1,000 templates, Vyond Go, which drafts a video from a prompt, a script or a document, and more than 1,300 AI avatars. The plans are priced for that audience.

For one person the maths changes. Starter costs $99 a month, or $699 paid yearly, for a single user. Team collaboration starts on Professional at $199 a month per user, and Enterprise and Agency are sold only by the year, at $1,649 and $1,999 per user. There is no free plan: the trial gives you 2,000 credits and up to three videos, all watermarked, and Vyond's help center says trial videos can't be downloaded.

If what you need is a narrated whiteboard video for YouTube or a lesson, most of that suite goes unused. AnimatedBoard does one job, turning your text into a drawn video, and its plans differ only in how many minutes of video they include.

Vyond whiteboard animation vs a video drawn from your script

Vyond does have a whiteboard style. It is one of its animation styles, next to Business Friendly, Contemporary and Storybook: premade characters and props with a hand-drawn sketch look that you customise and animate in the editor, on every plan. It works well when you want the same cast of characters across a series of corporate videos.

AnimatedBoard works the other way round. There is no library to browse. Our AI reads each scene of your script, writes a brief of what to draw and draws it in one of 10 whiteboard looks, from black marker on white to chalk on a blackboard or blueprint lines. Each element appears at the moment the voice names it: drawn stroke by stroke by a hand, or revealed progressively in textured looks such as chalk and blueprint.

Your words stay yours. Our AI only proposes where each scene starts and what to draw; the narration is cut word for word from your script. How to move a Vyond project to AnimatedBoard

There is no file to convert. AnimatedBoard starts from text, so you bring the words and it draws them again.

  1. Copy the narration

    Take it from Vyond's text export (Professional and up) or from the document you wrote it in, and paste it as it is. One video holds up to 20,000 characters.

  2. Or upload the source document

    If the video came from a PDF or Word file, upload the same file (up to 25 MB, not scanned) and our AI writes a narrated script from it that you can edit before anything is drawn.

  3. Choose the look, the voice and the format

    A whiteboard look such as Quiet Lines for training, one of six AI voices per accent or your own recording on a paid plan, and 16:9, 9:16 or square.

  4. Review the scenes for free

    "Scenes only" splits the script at no cost so you can check each drawing brief first. "Create video" does everything in one run after showing the estimated cost.

No. Vyond has no free plan, only a free trial with 2,000 AI credits and up to three videos. Trial videos carry a watermark, and Vyond's help center says they can't be downloaded. In some regions it also offers 7-day plan trials for $10.
