Animated Board

StrokeVideo alternative

StrokeVideo alternative: two AI whiteboard makers, compared honestly

StrokeVideo and AnimatedBoard both turn a script, a topic or a PDF into a narrated whiteboard video, both keep a pasted script word for word, and neither adds a watermark. StrokeVideo is cheaper per minute ($0.20 to $0.50) and narrates in 14 languages. AnimatedBoard adds illustrated story styles, six video formats, your own voice or a clone on paid plans, free Shorts cut from your long video, thumbnails and scene-by-scene editing, from $29 a month. Facts checked on StrokeVideo's own site on 7 October 2026.

The brain weighs just three pounds, yet it uses 20% of the body's energy…

Our app made this video of about a minute from a plain-text script, in about a minute: you paste it, click Create video and our AI draws and narrates every scene. Nothing edited by hand. Longer videos take a few minutes more.

What StrokeVideo is

StrokeVideo is an AI whiteboard animation maker run by WHALEPLUS PTE. LTD., a company in Singapore. Its About page says it launched in September 2026 and is built by a small independent team. You give it a one-line topic, your own script, an audio recording, a web page, a PDF or a Word file; it writes the narration if you didn't, cuts it into boards of one idea each, illustrates every board, narrates it and traces each stroke in time with the voice.

It is a focused product and a good one to know about. It is also very new, so if you are choosing a tool for a channel or a course you will run for a year, it is worth comparing the details that change your monthly work: what a minute costs, how long a video can be, which formats and languages you get, and what you can fix after the first render.

AnimatedBoard is built around the same promise, a script becomes a drawn and narrated video, with a few different choices about what comes around it. The rest of this page goes through them one by one, including where StrokeVideo comes out ahead.

StrokeVideo charges 50 credits per minute of finished video and 100 when the video uses a character reference sheet. AnimatedBoard figures use the default voice; a scene drawn from a character or style reference counts at least 8 seconds.

StrokeVideo pricing: what one minute costs

Both products sell minutes of finished video. StrokeVideo lists the per-minute price itself; for AnimatedBoard we divide each plan's price by its minutes.

On price per minute, StrokeVideo is clearly cheaper today. Its extra credits cost $0.35 to $0.50 per 50 credits, and redrawing one board costs 10 credits. AnimatedBoard's paid plans include 10, 25 or 60 free scene changes a month before any minute is spent.

Where AnimatedBoard works differently

Your words stay yours. Both tools read a pasted script as written. In AnimatedBoard that rule runs through the whole editor: our AI only proposes where each scene starts and what to draw, and the narration of every scene is cut word for word from your text. Lines that aren't narration, like "Scene 3" or "Visual: a graph going up", are spotted before anything is created and turned into drawing directions instead of being read aloud.

Two kinds of video, not one. Besides the whiteboard looks (white board, chalkboard, blueprint, notebook and more), nine illustrated story styles make full-colour picture-book videos with recurring characters, a slow camera move on each panel and karaoke captions. A history channel and a bedtime-story channel can live in the same account.

One long video becomes many posts. From a finished video you can cut Shorts and Reels for free: pick consecutive scenes, and you get a 1080×1920 clip with captions and a headline, made from drawings and voice you already paid for. You can also make YouTube thumbnails and covers, get three title ideas, a description with chapters and tags, and join finished videos into one of up to an hour.

  • Edit one scene at a time: rewrite a sentence, redraw a scene, go back to an earlier drawing for free, or change only the part of a drawing you select.
  • Your voice: upload your own recording on any paid plan, or clone your voice, and the drawing follows it.
  • Captions burned into the picture in five styles, in any of the six languages even when the voice speaks another one, plus .srt and .vtt files.
  • Six formats from the same editor, in Full HD, with no watermark on any plan.
